Titans A.J. Brown: Returns to practice

Brown (knee) ran routes during practice Monday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans official site reports.

Brown has been sidelined for most of the teams offseason activities after undergoing surgery on both of his knees. He briefly practiced during training camp, but a reported flare up in his knee part way through August has kept him sidelined since. Brown did not participate in any preseason action, which makes his participation in practice a bit more notable. The team has consistently stated that Brown will be ready for Week 1 of the regular season against Arizona, and his activity at practice backs that notion.

Titans A.J. Brown: Misses entire preseason

by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Brown (knee) didnt play in Saturdays preseason defeat to the Bears, according to Paul Kuharsky of PaulKuharsky.com.

Brown kicked off the offseason with surgery on both of his knees, which sidelined him from OTAs and mandatory minicamp. He was reported to be 100 percent at the start of training camp, but a knee issue flared up in mid-August, leading to sporadic showings at practice and no exhibition action whatsoever. Thus, when the Titans take on the Cardinals in Week 1, itll mark the first time the trio of Brown, Derrick Henry and Julio Jones will play in a game as teammates, assuming the latter has put his own August health concern behind him.

Titans A.J. Brown: Takes the field Monday

by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Brown (knee) was present for Mondays practice, Turron Davenport of ESPN.com reports.

The report notes that the wideout wasnt sporting any protective gear on his knee when he took the field. Moreover, Brown was able to participate during the individual portion of the practice, in addition to getting in some side work with the teams trainers. Given that his practice reps are being managed after his recent right knee flare-up, it doesnt seem likely that Brown will play in Saturdays preseason finale against the Bears, but as Adam Schefter of ESPN previously reported, Tennessees top pass catcher from 2020 is expected to be ready for Week 1 action.

Titans A.J. Brown: Bothered by knee again

by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Brown is dealing with a knee injury but should be ready for Week 1, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

The wideout reportedly looked dominant early in training camp, rebounding strong after undergoing surgeries on both knees in the offseason. He then missed practice with an undisclosed injury last week, and while it doesnt sound too serious, fantasy managers arent wrong to be concerned about another issue with Browns knees. Browns practice participation will need to be monitored in the coming weeks as the Titans prepare for their season opener against Arizona on Sept. 12.

Titans A.J. Brown: Could suit up Saturday

by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Brown may see snaps during Saturdays preseason finale versus the Bears, Jim Wyatt of the Titans official site reports.

Per coach Mike Vrabel, the Titans are adjusting their schedule this week to resemble the one used during the regular season, likely as a means of preparation before Week 1. It could translate to Brown, Derrick Henry and Ryan Tannehill all making their only appearances of exhibition season, but Vrabel could opt to wait until later in the week before making such a decision.

Titans A.J. Brown: Doesnt play Saturday

by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Brown (undisclosed) was in uniform and participated in warmups, but he didnt play in Saturdays preseason game against the Buccaneers, Ben Arthur of the Nashville Tennessean reports.

Other key players such as fellow WR Julio Jones, RB Derrick Henry and QB Ryan Tannehill also didnt take the field once the game started Saturday, and its unclear if theyll see action in next weekends preseason finale against the Bears. That said, theres no reason to think that Browns Week 1 status is in question, a notion that would be confirmed by the wideouts participation in practice this coming week.

Titans A.J. Brown: Suits up Saturday

by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Brown (undisclosed) is in uniform for Saturdays preseason game against the Buccaneers, Turron Davenport of ESPN.com reports.

The wideout missed some practice time this past week, but it appears as though hes past the issue that limited him. How much action he sees Saturday remains to be seen, but it looks like Brown could potentially see some tune-up snaps against Tampa Bay as he continues to ready for Week 1 action.

Titans A.J. Brown: Not practicing this week?

by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Brown (undisclosed) hasnt been participating in joint practices with the Buccaneers this week, Turron Davenport of ESPN.com reports.

Occasional rest days make sense for a star player who had offseason surgeries on both knees, but it would be odd to keep Brown out of consecutive practices this late in the summer unless theres some kind of problem at hand. Coach Mike Vrabel declined to elaborate Thursday afternoon, merely saying Brown is not available. The wideout presumably wont play in Saturdays preseason game at Tampa Bay.

Titans A.J. Brown: Dominating early in camp

by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Brown had numerous catches during Thursdays practice, looking healthy even as he wore a band over his right knee, Turron Davenport of ESPN.com reports.

Brown missed the offseason program while rehabbing from January surgeries on both knees. No matter, he was cleared for the start of training camp and seems to be off to a running start, with Jim Wyatt of titans.com supporting the notion that Brown has been highly active early on. New teammate Julio Jones hasnt been quite as busy, but that should come soon enough as he increases his comfort level in a new system.

Titans A.J. Brown: Ready for training camp

by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Brown (knee) will be a full go for the start of training camp next week, Paul Kuharsky of PaulKuharsky.com reports.

The 24-year-old underwent surgery on both knees in January and didnt participate in OTAs or June minicamp, but hell be good to go for the start of training camp. Brown caught 70 of 106 targets for 1,075 yards and 11 touchdowns in 14 games in 2020 while playing through the knee injuries for most of the season, and he could receive a bit less defensive attention this year thanks to the offseason addition of Julio Jones.

Titans A.J. Brown: Closing in on return

by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Brown (knee) didnt participate in OTAs or June minicamp, but he said it wont be long before hes back on the practice field, Jim Wyatt of the Titans official site reports.

Brown had surgery on both knees in January and has thus far mostly been limited to rehab work and cardio. It sounds like he could be ready for training camp, where hell team up with Ryan Tannehill, Derrick Henry and recent addition Julio Jones in a star-studded Tennessee offense. With WR Corey Davis and TE Jonnu Smith both departing this offseason, the Titans presumably expect Brown and Jones to handle a huge share of the targets and receiving production.

Titans A.J. Brown: Ready for softer matchups

by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Brown (knee) will receive less attention from opposing defenses after the Titans acquired Julio Jones, Turron Davenport of ESPN.com reports.

The Titans had seen a number of pass catchers leave via free agency this offseason, the most notable of which was Corey Davis. Without any proven replacements, Brown was set to see massive volume, but he would also have been the singular focus of opposing defenses. With Jones now in the mix, Brown may see his projected volume decrease, but he also should have more room to operate by avoiding double teams and potentially being matched up against the oppositions second cornerback rather than the first.

Titans A.J. Brown: Undergoes surgery on both knees

by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Brown revealed on social media Tuesday that he recently underwent surgery on both of his knees, Terry McCormick of TitanInsider.com reports.

Brown explained the severity of his injuries by revealing that the Titans medical staff suggested he should be shut down for the year in Week 2. Nevertheless, the second-year receiver battled through the pair of injuries and piled up 70 receptions (106 targets) for 1,075 yards and 11 touchdowns, receiving Pro Bowl honors in the process. According to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, Brown should be ready for the 2021 season.

Titans A.J. Brown: Solid line in loss

by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Brown recorded six receptions on 10 targets for 83 yards and a touchdown in the Titans wild-card loss to the Ravens.

Brown was one of the few bright spots for the Titans offense, as he converted their only touchdown of the contest on a 10-yard reception. He also chipped in explosive plays that came from both deep passes and yards after the catch, recording gains of 29, 18 and 14 yards. Brown solidified himself as one of the better young receivers in the league in 2020 and should be prepared to take another step forward during the 2021 campaign, particularly if fellow wideout Corey Davis signs elsewhere.

Titans A.J. Brown: Set to suit up Sunday

by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Brown (knee/hand) doesnt have a designation for Sundays wild-card game versus the Ravens, Jim Wyatt of the Titans official site reports.

Browns only on-field work this week occurred at Wednesdays walk-through, leading to a limited listing on the injury report. The Titans held him out of drills entirely Thursday and Friday, after which the wide receiver told Terry McCormick of TitanInsider.com that he didnt get as many reps as he would have liked, but he instead turned to film study in order to make the most of my opportunities. Despite the lack of reps, Brown is set to take on his typical role in the offense, which equated to 70 catches (on 106 targets) for 1,075 yards and 11 touchdowns in 14 appearances this season.

Titans A.J. Brown: Not spotted at practice

by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Brown (knee/hand) wasnt present at the portion of Fridays practice open to the media, Turron Davenport of ESPN.com reports.

If Brown goes down as a non-participant Friday, itll mark back-to-back absences after being listed as limited on Wednesdays estimated practice report. Knee and hand issues are to blame, with the former likely resulting from his brief first-quarter departure in the regular-season finale. The Titans will reveal Browns potential availability for Sundays wild-card matchup with the Ravens later Friday.

Titans A.J. Brown: Sits out practice Thursday

by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Brown (knee/hand) didnt practice Thursday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans official site reports.

Brown was limited Wednesday, but his practice reps have been managed for quite some time now, so his downgrade in participation Thursday isnt necessarily a red flag. With that in mind, it wouldnt surprise us to see the wideout approach Sundays playoff game against the Ravens minus an injury designation upon the posting of Fridays final injury report.

Titans A.J. Brown: Listed as limited on report

by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

The Titans listed Brown as a limited participant on Wednesdays estimated practice report with hand and knee injuries, Turron Davenport of ESPN.com reports.

Brown had been managing an ankle issue down the stretch, but it didnt stop him from playing 64 of 71 offensive snaps in the Titans Week 17 win over the Texans, during which he recorded a season-high 10 catches (on 11 targets) for 151 yards and a touchdown. His limitations to begin the current week suggest that Brown is banged up coming out of the regular-season finale, but at this stage, the receiver isnt believed to be in danger of missing Sundays wild-card game against the Ravens.

Titans A.J. Brown: Huge numbers in division clincher

by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Brown caught 10 of 11 targets for 151 yards and a touchdown in Sundays 41-38 win over the Texans.

The Titans got a scare on their opening drive when Brown appeared to injure his knee, but he quickly returned to action and wound up leading the team in catches and receiving yards. Browns last grab of the day was arguably his most important -- after Houston had tied the game with only 18 seconds remaining, Ryan Tannehill found his favorite option on a 52-yard strike to set Tennessee up for the winning, and AFC South-clinching, field goal. Brown will now get ready for a clash with the Ravens next Sunday in the wild-card round.
